Public Review Announcement: Secondary Social Studies Resource Adoption (Grades 6–12)

Rockdale County Public Schools (RCPS) is pleased to announce the public review phase of the secondary Social Studies instructional resource adoption for grades 6–12. This phase is a critical step in RCPS’s commitment to identifying the highest-quality instructional resources that are fully aligned with the Georgia Standards of Excellence (GSE) for Social Studies ( https://tinyurl.com/3sxktr9z ) and that best meet the instructional needs of Rockdale County students.

RCPS is dedicated to a thorough, thoughtful, and transparent adoption process. Our goal is to select instructional resources that support rigorous, engaging Social Studies instruction and promote disciplinary literacy by encouraging students to question, evaluate sources, solve problems, and make connections to the world around them. The public review phase plays an essential role in this process by allowing stakeholders to closely examine potential resources and provide meaningful feedback. The resources can be viewed digitally and at each site. As the Georgia Standards of Excellence for Social Studies raises the level of expectation for teaching and learning, stakeholder feedback is critical.

Feedback collected during the public review will be carefully analyzed and considered alongside other internal data, including educator feedback, and implementation considerations. Together, these data sources will inform the district’s final decision to ensure the selected resource both aligns to the Social Studies GSE and best supports teaching and learning across RCPS secondary classrooms.

How to Participate in the Public Review

Community members, educators, parents, and stakeholders are invited to participate in the public review by following the steps below:

1. Click the provided link associated with the vendor to access the instructional resource digitally.

2. Review the resource materials thoroughly, paying close attention to content alignment, instructional design, and student usability.

3. Complete the vendor-specific survey after reviewing the resource to share feedback and insights.

4. Submit your feedback by February 13, 2026.

Your participation and feedback are invaluable components of this adoption process and directly contribute to RCPS’s commitment to selecting the best possible instructional materials for our students.
